Grace Church, Anglican in Circleville, Ohio today announced its affiliation with the Anglican Mission in the Americas (AMiA). Established as a Charismatic Episcopal Church in 1994, the congregation has been independent for the last two years.
“We have always been Anglican in nature,” said Fr. Dale Minor, “so joining with AMiA corresponds with who we are as a congregation. We are excited about the opportunities opened to us through our affiliation. We celebrate Anglican Mission’s commitment to the authority of Scripture, the work of the Holy Spirit and Anglican liturgy including the sacraments – we share this commitment to the faith and practice of the one holy catholic and apostolic church.”
Grace Church, Anglican continues to meet on Sunday mornings for worship in their distinctive building on 574 East Main Street, originally used as a grain elevator and later as a garden center.
“The people of Grace have said, ‘this building began as a place for feeding and it continues to operate for the purpose of providing spiritual food’ and we are grateful,” Father Dale said.
Under the leadership of the Rev. Dale R. Minor and the Rev. Jack Snyder, parishioners enjoy the foundation of a service of Holy Communion interwoven with times of testimony, gifts of the spirit and a blend of contemporary and traditional worship.
“This church,” said Fr. Dale, “is a place where people come to be fed with the truth of scripture and often receive healing through the prayer ministry and counseling of our leadership.”
The Anglican Mission, a missionary outreach of the Anglican Province of Rwanda, exists to glorify God and to serve, grow and multiply local churches that love Jesus Christ. It is focused on reaching the 130 million un-churched in the U.S. and some 20 million in Canada with the transforming reality of Jesus Christ by building an alliance committed to gathering, planting and serving dynamic churches in the Anglican tradition. Since its formation, the Anglican Mission has added, on average, one church every three weeks since it was established in 2000.
