Erilynne Barnum Honored with Ruth Award
On March 31, the Rev. Erilynne Barnum, Church of the Apostles in Fairfield, Connecticut, received the 2011 Ruth Award at the Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s “Hearts of Hope Women’s Benefit Reception” with over 650 in attendance.
The Ruth Award was established in 2009 to honor one woman each year who best exemplifies the characteristics of women found in the Scriptures of Proverbs 31 and the book of Ruth. Specifically, these honorees advocate for poor, needy and destitute women; speak with wisdom, honor and understanding; are devoted to helping other women; and fight poverty from the inside out, using their influence in the marketplace of life.
