Ride 4 Rwanda in Colorado

Resurrection Anglican Fellowship in Centennial, Colorado, is one of the first parishes in theAM to be partnered with a sister congregation. Over six years, numerous trips to Rwanda and fundraising efforts to help with the needs of the parish have fostered deep relationships between the two churches. Until now, the 1250 parishioners that make up the Ngarama parish have not had a church home, just unfinished walls and grass with open sky.
In 2007, all that changed. After the city granted the church land, a concrete foundation was poured and work on the exterior began. As funds trickle in, progress continues. Resurrection Anglican sent a team to help build pillars to the second floor, and brick walls are slowing rising.
Ride 4 Rwanda is an effort to keep the needs of the parish in the forefront of people’s minds. “This is not a lot of exercise for us,” laughs the Rev. Phil Eberhart, Rector. “We even meet for pizza afterwards.”
While the group enjoys fellowship with one another, their combined riding events raise several thousand dollars to assist in the next phase of building. This congregation is making a difference in the lives of others – and they’re having fun in the process!
