New Around the Mission
Learning to Listen, Reaching the Unchurched
July 1, 2009
Why do people drop out of the Church?
How can we bring them back and evangelize them?
The largest portion of our population is not the unchurched but the inactive member. Pastoral Care Associates is offering a five-day training on ministering to the bored and apathetic Christian. The course covers:
- 11 active listening skills in a lab format that combines information and experiential learning.
- The top reasons people leave the church.
- How to recognize "cries for help" and minister to your congregation, and keep them active.
- How to develop a program for bringing the dropped out Christian back to participation.
- And Pastoral care skills to bring home to your church, and family.
The Lab is scheduled for July 27-31 from 9am to 5pm. The Rev. Michael Lessard is the class trainer with the Lab held at the Pastoral Care Associates office located at 2040 W. Bethany Home Road, Suite 103 in Phoenix, Arizona. The cost is $250 plus a $25 registration fee for your student workbook. You can register online here or you can call (602) 226-9298 pager for Rev. Lessard, or simply leave a message here: (602) 841-5505.
Pastoral Care Associates is a non-profit corporation and is a participating ministry in The Lord of the Nations Network of the Anglican Mission.
