Mission Initiatives
In addition to supporting church plants and projects within Mission Networks, theAM has launched a number of special Mission Initiatives that reflect our commitment to reach those outside the church in North America as well as break into new territory. Led by talented and entrepreneurial leaders with vision and passion for a targeted ministry focus or demographic, these initiatives put a "face and location" on the 130 million and have greatly enriched our life and mission.
Worship
In September 2006, theAM launched an initiative for "Worship Development" led by Andy Piercy, who served on staff at Holy Trinity Brompton, home of the Alpha Course. His skills as a musician, composer and worship leader, as well as his unique experience in both church and independent ministry settings, uniquely qualifies Andy to assist congregations, clergy and worship leaders of the Mission. Andy has a simple and clear philosophy of modeling authentic worship while beckoning hearts to a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus.
Since joining the Mission, Andy and wife Judy have hosted a number of worship conferences in local congregations as well as for Network and other regional gatherings, and Andy is also responsible for worship during theAM's annual Winter Conference. Mentoring is the heart of Andy's approach to worship development, and he is quick to correct any misinterpretation that his role is to "improve" worship on the local level. Rather, his goal is to impassion those he mentors. Describing worship as "enjoying intimacy with God," Andy seeks to "release" congregations and teams to develop a heart for worship.

Student Ministry
The most recent Christian conversion statistics indicate that the vast majority of commitments to Christ happen well before a student graduates from college. In fact, most commitments to Christ happen before a student steps foot on a college campus. Leaders of theAM's Student Ministry Initiative seek to create and empower ministry within our local congregations in order to reach students before graduation. To facilitate this goal, we are also committed to encouraging, equipping and empowering student pastors within theAM. Since a number of our smaller congregations do not have a full time youth ministry program in place, we assist in training congregations to effectively minister to families, especially on Sunday mornings. The Initiative supports "Soul in the City" - annual summer mission camps and developed a strategic partnership with Youth Conference Ministries (YCM), [LINK to http://www.ycmstretch.com/] which offers all of our church families Gospel-centered summer camps and mission trip opportunities endorsed by theAM.
For more information, contact Sayward Elliott, Interim Coordinator of Student Ministries.
Prayer
Scripture tells us to pray with the expectation that God hears and responds when we cry out to Him. Expectant prayer forms the foundation and supports all we do in the life of theAM.
Elizabeth Walter heads a national team of intercessors who pray for the mission and ministry of theAM and our leadership. Elizabeth teaches on various aspects of prayer and intercession for churches, Mission Networks and at Winter Conference. In addition, her team provides a prayer chapel and hosts a Service of Soaking Prayer during Winter Conference each year and has developed a 30 Day Prayer Guide [LINK to 30 Day Prayer Guide PDF] as a powerful resource for individuals and congregations.

Ministry Among Hispanics
Under the leadership of the Rev. Gabe Garcia, theAM seeks to reach Hispanics in North America, introducing our Anglican expression of faith to Hispanic communities across the country. In addition to church planting efforts, the Ministry Among Hispanics team hosts Missional Prayer Gatherings designed to inform and mobilize believers to reach Hispanics with the Gospel where they are heavily populated. Ministry leaders are currently focusing on five key states: Colorado, Arizona, California, Texas and Florida to fulfill the Great Commission.
For more information about this initiative, contact Fabian Palombo or Gabe Garcia.
Please continue to pray for church planting efforts to reach Hispanics with the Gospel. Find more information on Ministry Among Hispanics at the website (Spanish) here.
Asian Initiative
The Anglican Mission's Asian Initiative, launched in December 2007, is a church multiplication movement committed to nurturing Asian Christians as mature disciples of Jesus Christ. The Initiative is led by Bishop Silas Ng of Richmond Emmanuel Church in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada.
The Asian Initiative has established a daughter church, Toronto Emmanuel, with plans to plant 27 new congregations within the next ten years.
The church multiplication movement plan is designed to establish missional churches committed to multiplying and birthing churches according to Jesus' Great Commission rather than "doing church."
Churches for the Sake of Others
Churches for the Sake of Others (C4SO) is led by Bishop Todd Hunter. As an nitiative of theAM, C4SO is launching a church planting movement designed to develop leaders committed to planting Kingdom-based, missional churches located primarily, but not exclusively, on the West Coast of the United States.
Learn more about C4SO here.
AIM Church Planting
In February of 2007, six Anglican leaders in Texas cast a vision for church planting, and the group eventually launched the Anglican Initiative for Mission which was supported early on by the AM. AIM Church Planting has developed a process to inspire and call, train and equip, and send and support Anglican Mission leadership to plant and build reproducing churches and communities of faith.
