Anglican Mission Launches New Website

The Anglican Mission in the Americas (AMiA) launched a new website Friday, July 20, 2007. The interactive site features three primary sections geared toward specific audiences. "Experience the Anglican Mission" provides detailed information and connects those already affiliated with the Anglican Mission, those who have some knowledge and appreciation of the Anglican tradition as well as those who may be looking for a new church home; "Mission Networks" offers detailed information about the Anglican Mission’s unique network structure; and "Explore the Anglican Mission" seeks to reach the unchurched or "seekers" and was designed intentionally as an evangelism tool with a significantly different look and feel.

“The Anglican Mission website is the centerpiece of our communications efforts,” said Cynthia Brust, Director of Communications. “We have spent the last several months planning and designing a fresh, warm and welcoming site that offers user-friendly organization and navigation as well as more extensive online resources. We believe the new site reflects the relational nature of the Anglican Mission.”

Other website sections include Expectant Prayer, East Africa Connection, Real Life Stories, News (including three sections focusing on national news from the Anglican Mission, Mission Network and local congregation news, and Anglican Communion News and Commentary) as well as a Media Center.

The unveiling of the new website was scheduled to coincide with the Anglican Mission’s seventh anniversary.

“Seven years ago this week, I was on my way to Amsterdam for a meeting which culminated in the official formation of the Anglican Mission in America on July 28, 2000,” said the Rt. Rev. Charles H. Murphy, III, AMiA Chairman. “We believe the growth of the Anglican Mission is the result of a sovereign movement of the Holy Spirit, and we rejoice as we celebrate seven years of enlarging our tent. Our new website invites people to come, see and experience who we are and what we do,” Bishop Murphy added.
