New ACiC Bishop Conducts More Ordinations in Canada

July 17th 2007- ACiC Press Release

Vancouver, BC – Bishop Sandy Greene, a Missionary Bishop of the Episcopal Church of Rwanda, recently ordained two deacons, the Rev. Dr. Philip Tse and the Rev. Jennifer Isaak, in his new role as Bishop for the Anglican Coalition in Canada.

Bishop Sandy Greene is well-known for his strong pastoral gifts and his heart for spiritual renewal.  The Rev. Barclay Mayo, the ACiC Network Leader, commented: “We are so pleased to have Sandy Greene as our Bishop.  His pastoral heart and deep concern for the churches under his care stands as a great example to those called into leadership in the ACiC.  Bishop Greene is the quintessential encourager, a man of complete integrity and a refreshing change from the oversight that we experienced in the ACC.”  This is Bishop Greene’s third visit to Canada in the past two years, including the leading of a Christian Ashram retreat and an ACiC Clergy Retreat.

Bishop Greene commented, "I am delighted to find so much vitality in the congregations of the ACiC. I see them looking forward to a new mission and ministry in the west and through out Canada. I am particularly pleased to see Richmond Emmanuel Church preparing to send out the Rev. Philip Tse as a missioner to Chinese communities in northern California in the USA as well. Truly we are missionaries without borders."

Members of Church of Our Lord in Comox and Light Of Christ in Nanaimo were delighted to worship with Bishop Sandy Greene last week in Nanaimo. It is a joy and privilege to have a courageous, approachable, pastoral and Godly bishop who is unapologetically committed to biblical faith and mission.
