Applications Available for the 2008 Anglican School of Church Planting

The Anglican Initiative for Mission is now accepting applications for the 2008 Anglican School of Church Planting, which will be held May 24 – June 1, 2008 at Christ Church, Plano, TX.

The School is an 8-day intensive training designed to provide a theology, models, and practical application of the six characteristics of a functioning Anglican Church: Worship, Discipleship, External Focus, Communication, Administration, and Pastoral Care. Morning sessions will include Bible study, presentations, and discussion around each characteristic. In the afternoons, church planters will work with coaches to develop a strategic ministry plan to shape the way each characteristic will be lived out in their new church. Evenings will feature interactive field experiences and times of encouragement, fellowship, and celebration.

The School is designed primarily for three types of Anglican Mission leaders:

1) Leaders who are interested in entering the Anglican Initiative for Mission’s residency program this fall to be matched with an Anglican Mission church that will train and equip and send and support them to plant a church in the next 1-2 years.

2) Leaders who have formed a partnership with an existing Anglican Mission church and are in the process of planning to launch a church plant.

3) Leaders in the beginning stages of an Anglican Mission church plant who need equipping and support to build and grow a healthy, reproducing church.

Leaders are encouraged to bring their spouse and also may bring one member of their launch team. Participation is limited to a maximum of 25 planters/teams. All applicants to the School must have at least entered the ordination or reception process for the Anglican Mission in the Americas by submitting an application for ordination or reception to their Mission Network’s clergy credentialing coordinator.

Time is short! Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2008. An information sheet with more details about the school and a complete application packet is available at http://www.theanglicaninitiative.org/events/school/  or contact Nancy Scammacca, Acting Director of the Anglican Initiative for Mission at 512-480-9080 x1 or nancy@theanglicaninitiative.org for more information.
